Social Security

Please come in France with :
A residence permit card.
Birth certificate translated into french by a professional translator.
A certified copy of the degrees translated into french.
A certificate issued by social security for students under 28 on 01/10/2011 coming from a country in European Economic Space having a health insurance.



Students with a research contract signed either by IPGP or University of Paris-Diderot have a general social security cover as for every salaried employee. It is mandatory to register to the social security from the first day of the contract. In order to change status (from student to salaried employee), you must go to your local health insurance agency (CPAM) to change your status.

It is highly recommended registering to a complementary health insurance. For national education you can choose either MGEN or MAGE as a complementary health insurance
