Le Fonds AXA pour la Recherche (http://www.axa-research.org/fr/) souhaite favoriser l'émergence de leaders scientifiques de premier plan. il accorde chaque année une trentaine de bourses Doctorales. L'unique campagne pour l'année 2010 a ouvert le 2 Février. Les institutions ont jusqu'au 30 Mars 2010 pour proposer des candidats, lesquels pourront soumettre leurs dossiers jusqu'au 27 Avril. Trois grands secteurs seront financés : Environmental risks (Natural catastrophes ,Climate change and associated risks), Life risks, Socio Economic risks

Parmi l’ensemble des thèmes possibles le sous-thème des catastrophes naturelles est celul qui nous concerne le plus l’école doctorale. 1. Seismic risks 2. Avalanche risks 3. Ground movements Subsidence, collapse, debris flow and avalanche, landslides, coastal dune dynamics, dissolution of limestone 4. Flooding risks Generated by sustained rainfall or river flood, by streaming andmudflows, by debris flow, groundwater flood, by sea tidal surge and strong winds 5. Volcanic risks Lava flow, pyroclasticflow, volcano injections of aerosols and gases, lahars 6. Forest fires 7. Risks linked to atmospheric phenomenon Cyclonic storms and tornadoes, windstorms and wind risks, gales,atmospheric electrical discharge, snow and freezing rain, blizzard, hailstorms and hail risks,heat waves, droughts 8. Socio-economic impacts of natural catastrophes

The principal criteria used to make a scientific and academic assessment of the applications submitted are listed below: 1. The academic excellence of the candidate, assessed on the basis of his or her previous studies, and the excellence of his or her previous studies. 2. The innovative approach and originality of the Ph.D. project, as well as its feasibility (access to resources, etc.), and the impact of its potential results. 3. The international orientation and reach of the host research laboratory. 4. The quality of the conditions offered to the Ph.D. applicant by the host laboratory. 5. The feasibility (access to resources, etc.) of the project, and the impact of its potential results.
